Research interests:
I work on the philosophy of the body, especially as it pertains to the studies of sex and gender. I especially like to mull over the interrelations between embodiment, ontology, and language, thinking about such questions as: What kind of knowledge can we have of our bodies and our sex? What are the interrelations between our understanding of our gender and our sex? What role does and should our lived experience and lived body have when thinking about sex and gender? To consider these questions, I pull widely on work in Social & Political philosophy, Feminist and Trans philosophy, Critical Phenomenology, Social Ontology, Philosophy of Science, and Ordinary Language Philosophy.
My dissertation on these questions is advised by Linda Alcoff.
Apart from thinking about sex, gender, and the body, Iām also interested in care ethics and care theory more broadly and am thinking about the interconnections between care ethics and sexual ethics. In the future, I hope to work more on questions pertaining to the relation between the human and nature.
I have received a Provost Predissertation Fellowship, a Louise Lennihan Grant, and a Doctoral Student Research Grant for my dissertation research. In 2025, I was also an Open Knowledge Fellow at the Mina Rees Library, CUNY.
